Training Camp Report: Day 5

Training Camp Day 5: June 2

Kamloops – Wally Buono gave his players the morning off on Thursday to focus on meetings and film study. It proved to be beneficial as it allowed a few banged up guys a chance to heal and get treatment. As a result,  afternoon practice showed plenty of speed and good performances on both sides of the ball.

Team Stretch

WHO STOOD OUT:

Buono continues to commend the play of his offensive line. Hunter Steward looks to be adapting quite nicely to his move to left guard. Antonio Johnson was taking reps at left tackle with Jovan Olafioye still dealing with a hip flexor. Jeremiah Johnson continued to perform well in the backfield and showed some tremendous blocking ability. Bryan Burnham had another solid day, running nice routes and coming up with a couple of big catches during team scrimmage. 4401740963001_4923473230001_4923416066001-vsFellow receiver Uzoma Nwachukwu had one of his more productive days. Manny Arceneaux made a nice leaping touchdown catch in short yardage drills.

Defensively, Ronnie Yell had the biggest hit of the day on Nwachukwu. Mike Edem once again showed his speed in the secondary and had a nice knockdown on a  deep ball thrown by Jonathon Jennings. Jason Arakgi had a couple of nice blitzes during team scrimmage.

QUOTES OF NOTE:

“He has a Geroy-type style to his play. He motivates me.”- Arceneaux on the return of Nic Moore to the receiving corps.
