Donations
The BC Lions Football Club is very active in fulfilling donation requests from charitable and non-profit organizations to assist with their fundraising efforts. The club helps raise thousands of dollars for charities and benefits by donating auction items.
While the BC Lions recognize a commitment to charitable concerns, the volume of donation requests we receive on an annual basis has required us to limit the donation requests we fulfill each year. The BC Lions Football Club does not provide monetary donations of any kind.
What organizations do we support?
The BC Lions Football Club supports registered and not-for-profit groups throughout Vancouver and British Columbia that focus on public education, grassroots football, and health and wellness programs. Please note we are unable to accommodate requests for families or individuals.
Although our policies allow us to be generous with our donations, submitting a request does not guarantee your organization will receive a donation. To help the greatest number of people, the BC Lions Football Club will only provide each organization with one item per year.
What items are offered?
The BC Lions often provide tickets to BC Lions home games as well as BC Lions-branded merchandise which include, but are not limited to, ball caps, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jerseys and footballs. Please note we are unable to guarantee that every item donated will be autographed. Items donated are determined at the discretion of the BC Lions Football Club.
Please note due to the limited availability of seats at Lions home games, game tickets for specific dates may not be available for donation purposes.
Procedure for Donation Requests
Charities and non-profit organizations that are interested in requesting a donation item must follow the procedure listed below:
– Submit the request no less than six weeks in advance of the event date.
– Donation requests must be submitted via the donation request form at BCLions.com
Due to the amount of donation requests that the BC Lions Football Club receives, we kindly ask that you do not call our offices to inquire or follow-up on your donation request. Donations are ordered by the date of the event. In most cases you will be contacted a month prior to your event date whether your donation has been approved or declined. Our community relations department diligently reviews each request and will make contact with your organization if we are able to support your event.

Player Appearances
The BC Lions are very active when it comes to appearing in the community.
Players are generally confirmed two weeks prior to the event. Players enjoy interacting with their fans but their availability is limited during the Canadian Football League season.
Players are only available to make appearances on one day per week. These dates will vary depending on the game day schedule. Please note from the middle of October through to the end of November, no player appearances will be scheduled as players focus and prepare for the CFL playoffs.
Players and coaches are generally not available for the month of June because of the team’s intense practice schedule during training camp leading up to their first regular season game.
Charity appearances are limited to one hour in length. Paid promotional appearances can vary in length, but most are scheduled for two hours.
Unless a game jersey is requested, players often wear casual clothing, such as a golf shirt and slacks, to appearances.
Most player appearances are community service, school or charity related, and as a result, are non-paid appearances. Many civic organizations offer honourariums to players. Some appearances are paid engagements. Business or promotional appearance fees are set at a minimum of $500.00 per hour.
