Training Camp Report: Day 7

Training Camp Day 7: June 4

Kamloops – The sun was out, the grills were fired up and fans migrated from all across the province to take in FanFest presented by BC Egg at Hillside Stadium. Following a brisk special teams walk through in the morning, Lions players had plenty of gas in the tank for a 90-minute mock game in front of the hundreds of spectators. Unlike previous years, FanFest was held in the evening and capped off with a brilliant fireworks display and autograph session.

WHO STOOD OUT:

All four quarterbacks took advantage DSC_0728of their reps. in the mock game. Jonathon Jennings started out quickly, going 4 for 5 on the opening series of 1st team battle. Keith Price had the only two touchdown passes of the evening, a slant route to Lavelle Hawkins and a nice completion to Devonn Brown in tight coverage. Brett Blaszko put on a good show with a couple of nice grabs, one of which he had to slide on for a big gain. Kendrick Ings showed off his speed and catching ability once again also.

On defence, the ‘team 100’ duo of Solomon Elimimian and Adam Bighill made life difficult at times for the offence and you can those two are anxious to hit someone in a different coloured uniform. Newcomer Chandler Fenner was fast and made a couple big plays in the secondary. On the defensive line, George Uko had one of his more impressive outings.
