Training Camp Report: Day 10

Training Camp Day 10: June 7

Kamloops – The anticipation continues to grow at Hillside Stadium as double day practices are winding down and we are only four sleeps away from the preseason opener in Saskatchewan. Afternoon practice included some piped in crowd noise for special teams drills as the coaching staff continues to prepare players for live game situations. There was more emphasis on no huddle drills and once again some two-point conversion practice in the afternoon session. Wally Buono continued to highlight the fact there is opportunities at receiver, one day after the retirement of Lavelle Hawkins.

WHO STOOD OUT:

One of those receivers is Colin Lockett, who made nice catches in both practices. Shawn Gore had the nicest grab of the day, beating an outstretched Ryan Phillips in the end zone. Phillips hurt his foot on the play and did not return, but hopes to practice tomorrow. Travis Lulay had a nice afternoon, completing passes to both Nick Moore and rookie Shaq Johnson in the padded practice.Terence-Jeffers- Harris made a nice over the shoulder grab in two-on-two drills. Buono once again saluted the entire offensive line.

Brandon Stewart was a force in the secondary, breaking up a pass to start morning team drills and later recording an interception on a nice read. Loucheiz Purifoy was speedy once again and also had an interception return for a touchdown. Davarus Shores stepped up his game in the afternoon with a couple of nice knockdowns. Ronnie Yell was speedy in the secondary as well.14 Lulay Travis 2 copy
