Breakfast With Bo, TJ and Stephen

Burlington, Ontario– Breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day. But when you are talking about pro football players on a game day, the importance is magnified even more as they look to start the day off by getting the necessary fuel into their bodies! The Lions team hotel in Burlington has a pretty awesome buffet for the players to hit up before their final meetings on the Tiger-Cats. BCLions.com caught up with Bo Lokombo, TJ Lee and Stephen Adekolu to talk road breakfast essentials.

” I was supposed to have some golden brown croissants but I burned them, ” Lokombo smiled. “Now I have to settle for scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. You gotta have your bacon and hash browns. If you’re a cereal guy, you can have cereal. If you’re more like a fruity guy, you can do that too.”

As for the topic of cereal, Lee says that’s not an option for him.

“Football players don’t really eat cereal on game day because it’s not very nutritious,” Lee said.

When asked about his go to game day breakfast, he was mostly on board with what Lokombo had to say.

“You gotta have hash browns and bacon with your eggs.”

Adekolu joined the table and turned heads when his plate revealed just one sausage and a small portion of scrambled eggs.

“This is just an appetizer. I am going back for the waffles,” Adekolu declared.

There you have it. Big breakfast and hopefully a big feast against the Ticats at Tim Horton’s Field.
