Training Camp Report: Day 6

Training Camp Day 6: June 3

Kamloops – After a morning off on day five, it was back to two-a-days for the Lions Friday at Hillside Stadium. Early practice was in helmets only with emphasis on two-on-two drills, team scrimmage and hurry up offence. Special teams drills saw more kicks for Richie Leone and newcomer Tiernan Docherty after Anthony Fera was one of three players released to start the day. Buono was happy with the overall speed on defence and commended the offence for picking up the pace in afternoon session.

WHO STOOD OUT:

Jonathon Jennin37 Fraser Eric flexgs was picking and choosing his targets in team play, throwing a few impressive deep balls in the process. Nic Moore was running nice routes and made a few catches against tight coverage. Terence Jeffers-Harris hauled in one of the longer catches of the day from Jennings. JC Coleman continues to prove he may be worth a look in the backfield, taking reps with the second-team offence for a portion of the afternoon. Rolly Lumbala was a nice duel threat with this running and catching ability in the afternoon team drills.

Defensively, Eric Fraser was a one-man wrecking crew during ‘skelly’ drills, returning an interception for a touchdown and later delivering two big hits to break up completions for Moore and Bryan Burnham respectively. Darius Allen and Andrew Hudson formed a nice one-two punch on the right side of the line and were good on blitzes. Dino Teague was good in the secondary with a nice knock down.17 Moore, Nick 2
