Manager, Merchandise Operations (Full Time)
Sales Department


Summary  

Manager, Merchandise Operations is responsible for overseeing staff and sales for the merchandise department of the BC Lions Football Club. This individual is responsible for inventory management, merchandise marketing, ecommerce development and management, merchandise procurement as well as sales and goal projections. In conjunction with the VP of Sales, projects also include but are not limited to development of marketing strategies to grow the brand and increase sales, source and manage vendors and oversee the development of the BC Lions brand from a merchandise perspective.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage inventory across multiple locations  
  • Lead multiple teams from day-to-day fulfillment to game day and special event staff  
  • Develop strategic plans to ensure brand awareness and economic growth 
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on sales activities; make recommendations based on inventory levels 
  • Lead buyer for all merchandise  
  • Procurement of vendors and existing vendor management  
  • Responsible for sales and growth forecasting as well as KPI reporting and management across multiple merchandise categories  
  • Maintain protection of company property and assets 
  • Other duties as directed or assigned by management team 

Requirements 

  • 5 plus years of retail management, logistics and distributions 
  • Must have experience using a POS and Inventory System (Erply, Opsuite, Shopify preferred) 
  • You communicate with honesty and kindness, and create the space for others to do the same 
  • Preferred ownership of a vehicle (drop-off of merchandise to various locations) 
  • Operational excellence

  • Integrity and being able to manage part-time staff members  
  • Able to understand analytical data on reports being run 
  • Must be a self-starter 
  • Willing to learn and works with a sense of urgency and willingness to ensure work is complete and accurate 
  • Loves sports and is passionate 
  • Must be able to lift 10-50lbs on a regular basis  
  • Valid driver’s license  

 

Details and Compensation 

This role will be based in both the Vancouver and Surrey office and will require traveling between the two offices from time to time. This role has a salary range of $60,000-$70,000, with bonus potential available.
