2021 A-Z Guide for BC Lions Games

Accessibility

All guest entry gates are fully accessible.

A dedicated Accessible Drop-Off and Pick-Up is located at section 147 – at street level on Pacific Boulevard. Vehicles can access this facility for drop-off/pick-up of passengers, however, there is no parking at the drop-off/pick-up facility.

Accessible seating platforms are integrated into the main stadium seating throughout the spectator bowl. One attendant ticket is available for purchase with each ticket purchased on the accessible platform. In order to accommodate groups larger than two, please speak with your ticketing representative, when purchasing your tickets. They will work with you to seat your party as close as possible.

Accessible washrooms for women are located in sections 206, 212, 226, 253. Accessible washrooms for men are located in sections 204, 211, 218, 224, 230, 237, 244, 251.

Alcohol

BC Place and Centerplate staff work hard to promote safe and responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages. The venue reserves the right to refuse alcohol service to any guest. All guests who appear under the age of 30 will be required to show a valid ID. Guests serving alcohol to minors will be subject to arrest. Beer will be served to a maximum of 24 oz. per person, per transaction. Any guest who attempts to conceal alcohol on entry, prior to being searched by BC Place Security, will be denied entry. Guests who surrender alcohol to BC Place Security prior to being searched will be permitted to enter. If at any time a guest is deemed to be impaired by alcohol or drugs, the guest will be evicted or denied entry and may be referred to the relevant authorities.

Alcohol service, Level 2 – until last 5 minutes in 3rd quarter. Alcohol service, Level 3 – start of 4th quarter. Service times are subject to change and Management reserves the right to stop alcohol service at its discretion.

Allergies

Outside food and beverages are not permitted inside BC Place. Those with allergies or unique dietary requirements should contact the Guest Experience team at guestservices@bcplace.com prior to attending an event, in order to receive written approval for any food they may be bringing into the event.

BC Place cannot guarantee food products and areas within the venue are free from nut products. BC Place recommends that guests with allergies of any kind take appropriate steps to manage the condition if required.

Alumni

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no alumni autographs in 2021.

Animals

BC Place and the BC Lions welcome fans and their service animals. Service animals may accompany guests in any areas open to the general public. All other animals are prohibited.

ATMs

BC Place will be a cash-free environment in 2021, and there will be no ATMs available at BC Place.

Autism Aware

BC Place is committed to ensuring all guests have the best experience possible – including people who live with sensory sensitivities such as autism. We are proud to partner with the Pacific Autism Family Network (PAFN) to provide a range of services and specialized resources designed to support guests living with autism – as well as their families – enjoy live events in comfort. In addition to enhanced staff training and awareness programs, BC Place now offers sensory support resources for guests with sensory sensitivities. These resources include:

Sensory Kits – available for guests to borrow from BC Place Guest Services located at section 234. The Sensory Kits are uniquely designed to assist guests who are sensitive to sensory inputs. Each kit contains noise-blocking earphones (for loan), a sensory toy, ID bracelet, sunglasses and an emotions card.

Weighted Blanket – available for guests to borrow from BC Place Guest Services located at section 234. Weighted blankets can act as a calming tool to help guests focus in a busy stadium environment.

Guests will be asked to leave a government issued I.D. as a deposit which will be returned when borrowed items are returned to our Guest Services desk.

Baby Change Stations

Level 2: 202, 203, 216, 216, 218, 229, 230, 243, 244, 245.
Level 3: Section 305, SouthWest/East Lounge, Club Orange.

Bag Check

BC Place will be providing a safe and secure bag check which will be located outside BC Place at gates C and G. There will be a $10 fee for each bag checked. Bag Check service is available from gate opening time to a half hour after the final whistle.

Banners

Banners and signs must not interfere with the view of other guests. They cannot be of distasteful nature or content, nor can they advertise a logo or product. Signs may not be attached to any surface or obstruct permanent signage.

Bike Valet

Safe and secure bicycle parking is provided by The Bicycle Valet (thebicyclevalet.ca), located outside BC Place, at the foot of the Gate C staircase. Bike valet service is available from gate opening time to a half hour after the final whistle.

Camera Policy

Personal photography is permitted in stadium, provided the images are for personal use only. Cameras must be smaller than 6 inches (150mm) in length with lens attached. Selfie sticks are not permitted. Camera bags are permitted inside BC Place provided they measure less than 14”x14”x6”

Cannabis

BC Place Stadium is a non-smoking facility and there are no designated smoking areas at BC Place. There are no in and out privileges once inside BC Place except for emergency or medical purposes. Exceptions may be made for guests who show a valid Medical Document Authorizing the use of Cannabis for Medical Purposes under the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations from Health Canada.

Smoking of any kind, and the use of alternative smoking devices (electronic or vapor), is not permitted on BC Place property, including the exterior concourses and plazas. Smoking, or the use of alternative smoking devices, on BC Place property will result in eviction from BC Place without refund. Consumption or possession of illegal drugs is prohibited on BC Place property. Consumption of smokeless marijuana is prohibited on BC Place property.

For the safety of everyone at BC Place, guests deemed to be impaired by cannabis may be denied entry or evicted.

Children

Children age two and under will be admitted free as long as the child is sitting on an adult’s lap. If a parent requests a physical seat for the child, he/she must purchase a ticket.

Clear Bag Policy

BC Place has introduced a Clear Bag policy for all guests attending events at the venue to make entry faster, safer and easier for everyone. A bag check service will be available at Gates C and H. Bags may be checked here for the duration of your event at a cost of $10 per bag.

  • Guests are encouraged not to bring bags to the stadium.
  • Guests may enter with one clear plastic bag that is no larger than 12” x 12” x 6”
  • Guests may also carry one small clutch purse-bag no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”, with a handle or strap which will be searched.
  • Exceptions may be provided for diaper bags, and for medically necessary items that cannot fit into a clear bag.
  • All bags are subject to search, including enhanced screening, if required.

Concessions

A wide variety of refreshments are available from concession booths, kiosks, and vendors throughout the stadium. Outside food and beverages are not permitted inside BC Place. All concession stands are cashless.

Costumes 

Costumes (including items that may be deemed potentially hazardous to other guests) may be subject to enhanced inspection upon entry.

Drinking Water

Empty personal water bottles (with or without lids) up to 1 litre capacity are permitted into the stadium and are subject to inspection at the gate. Glass bottles are not allowed inside the stadium. Permitted bottles can be filled with water at drinking fountains located on the main concourse in sections 204, 211, 218, 225, 231, 238, 245, 252, 305, 310. Bottled water can also be purchased from concessions.

Drop Off Zone

A dedicated Accessible Drop-Off and Pick-Up is located at section 147 – at street level on Pacific Boulevard. Vehicles can access this facility for drop-off/pick-up of passengers, however there is no parking at the drop-off/pick-up facility. Accessible parking is available at a number of parking lots near BC Place, serviced by: EasyPark,  Impark & Westpark.

Electronic Devices

Laptops, tablets, and tablet cases measuring less than 14”x14”x6” are permitted, however, all laptops, tablet devices and their cases are subject to inspection prior to entry. Electronic devices may be required to be turned on to demonstrate the device is not compromised, however no personal information or data will be accessed by BC Place. Laptops, Laptop Bags, Tablets, Briefcases, or Messenger Bags measuring larger than 14’’x14’’x6’’ are not permitted. See ‘Bag Sizes and Bag Search’ policy above for additional information.

Emergency Evacuation

In the unlikely event of an emergency that would require a stadium evacuation, please remain calm and follow instructions as they are given.

Entering The Playing Field

Entering the playing field without proper authorization is a violation of league and BC Lions Football Club rules. Violators will be subject to eviction and arrest.

Exit And Entry Policy

BC Place has enhanced its protocols to create a contactless guest experience, starting as you approach the venue.

As you approach, please get your ticket ready, which is on your mobile phone. Your digital ticket, found on the Ticketmaster app, includes a unique encrypted barcode for quick, simple entry and a 100% safe and secure ticket experience.

As you approach the entry gates, please prepare your approved bags (clear bag or small clutch) for inspection and place them on the table on either side of the metal detectors.

Please keep mobile phones, keys, watches, jewelry and coins with you as you proceed through the metal detectors. Our security team will signal you to proceed when they are ready. Once inside, please reclaim your approved bag (clear bag or clutch) from the table and proceed to your seats.

Fan Code Of Conduct

BC Place is committed to providing a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone at our venue. We invite you to help us make events at BC Place an experience that is welcoming and respectful for all guests, as well as those working during events, regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, body size, national origin, ethnicity, or religion.

Any guest not respecting the Code of Conduct may be removed from the venue and may be subject to arrest by law enforcement.

Unacceptable behaviour includes (but is not limited to):

  • Harassment, including unwelcome or hostile behavior, physical contact or sexual attention
  • Intimidation, including stalking or unwelcome following
  • Discrimination
  • Foul or abusive language, or obscene gestures
  • Physical abuse, fighting or making threatening remarks or gestures
  • Possession and/or use of illegal substances
  • Possession of an item that can be used as a weapon causing harm to others
  • Impairment related to alcohol or drug consumption
  • Providing alcohol or intoxicants to a minor
  • Smoking of any substance (including e-cigarettes)
  • Disruption of the event, including throwing objects, or trespassing in restricted areas.

Feminine Hygiene Products

Feminine hygiene products are available from Guest Services, located at Section 234.

50/50 

Tickets are sold from the time the doors open until the end of half-time. Volunteers sell tickets in the stands, on the concourse, and in the suites. The winning number is announced in the 4th quarter, and the Prize can be claimed at Guest Services at section 234 until the end of the 4th quarter. Winners have 10 days to claim the prize. If the prize isn’t claimed by the end of the game, prize winners must contact the BC Lions. The winning numbers are posted on the BC Lions Website HERE.

First Aid

First Aid Stations are found in sections 132 and 254, and roving first aid attendants are are located throughout the concourse on level 2. If you require assistance for any reason, including First Aid, please speak with the BC Place staff member nearest your location.

Kids Zone

Due to COVID-19 protocols, there will be no Kids Zone until British Columbia enters stage 4 reopening.

Lost And Found

On the day of a game, lost and found items can be returned to or collected from BC Place staff at the Guest Services booth located at section 234. To inquire about lost and found after the game, please call 604-661-7303.

Lost Children And Guests

Parents looking for a lost child should report to BC Place staff at the Guest Services booth located at Section 234 on level 2 as soon as possible.

Mascot

The beloved mascot of the BC Lions is Leo the Lion. Leo will be around the stadium and on the concourse throughout the game. Be sure to say hi!

Merchandise

Official BC Lions merchandise is available on the concourse inside BC Place Stadium at sections 205, 212, 222, 233, 249, and at the Southwest Club Lounge on level 3. Merchandise locations throughout the stadium accept debit and credit card. Cash will NOT be accepted.

Messages (Birthday, Anniversary)

Submit your special game day message here. Please note that all messages will be reviewed by BC Lions staff and may be subject to change. All special messages must be submitted 72 hours PRIOR to game time. Any requests that are received later unfortunately cannot be included. Space is limited and requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis and all submissions that are accepted with be contacted prior to the game.

Non-Alcohol Sections

Select non-alcohol seating is available at BC Lions home games in sections 206, 207, 216 and 217 for fans who prefer an alcohol-free environment while enjoying BC Lions Football.

Parking

The central location of BC Place in Downtown Vancouver provides guests with a wide selection of public parking near the stadium. The cost to park in lots closest to the stadium during events ranges from $10.00 to $30.00. There is limited accessible parking, however, there is a dedicated accessible drop-off located at street level on Pacific Boulevard under Gate F for guests using mobility devices.

Portable Phone Chargers

BC Place is pleased to offer portable phone chargers so guests can charge their phone while still being able to enjoy their event.  A limited number of portable phone chargers are available at Guest Service location at section 234 on a first come, first served basis.  To access these resources while attending an event at BC Place, guests will be asked to leave a government issued I.D. as a deposit which will be returned when the charger is returned to the Guest Services desk.

Prohibited Items

Prohibited Items include any items, either legal or illegal in nature, where possession is restricted from entry into BC Place by Federal, Provincial, or Municipal Law, Regulation, or BC Place Policy.

Prohibited Items are subject to change for different events – please consult the FAQ information for your event. Security measures may be increased for certain events. These measures include, but are not limited to a more thorough search of persons and property.

Guests entering the venue will either be required to surrender any prohibited items to BC Place for disposal, check the item at the bag check (subject to availability), or store the item off the property.

Examples of Prohibited Items:

  • Bags, luggage, containers or coolers larger. Bags must be made of clear plastic only and must be smaller than 12” x 12” x 6”. Guests are encouraged not to bring bags to the stadium.
  • Weapons
  • Fireworks
  • Laser Pointers
  • Illegal Drugs and Substances.
  • Drones
  • Laptops (tablets and tablet cases are permitted, however, they will be inspected prior to entry).
  • Bottles or containers with a capacity greater than 1 litre. See Water Bottles policy below.
  • Poles and Selfie Sticks
  • Aerosol cans, Paints or Flammable Liquids
  • Skateboards, Rollerblades or Bicycles
  • Alcohol
  • Outside food or beverages (exceptions may be made for medical or dietary reasons)
  • Cameras larger than 6 inches (150mm) in length with lens attached (Note: camera policy may vary for specific events – consult the Guest FAQ information for your event)
  • Helium balloons
  • Noise makers must be used in a manner that respects the comfort and enjoyment of all guests. Air Horns of any kind are not permitted. Drums are permitted, provided they fit within the guest’s lap. Drums are subject to search upon entry.
  • Vuvuzelas and cowbells are not permitted at Whitecaps FC matches.
  • Costume masks (permitted only to be worn while in your assigned seat).
  • Signs, flags, or displays that are offensive, racist, discriminatory, use inappropriate language or are religious, political, or commercial in nature.

*MEDICAL EXCEPTIONS & SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Exceptions to Prohibited Items may be made for those with medical requirements and/or special requirements. Advanced authorization by BC Place is strongly recommended. Please contact guestservices@bcplace.com

Safety and Security

The safety and security of everyone at BC Place is the venue’s top priority. All guests entering the stadium are subject to a screening which may include the use of a hand-held metal detector. Failure to participate in a screening will result in denial of entry.

Guests may not exit and re-enter the stadium using the same ticket. Guests should retain tickets in order to show them each time that they enter their assigned seating section. Guests should sit only in their assigned seat to avoid inconveniencing other guests. Offenders may be evicted from the stadium.

Smoking of any kind – including the use of e-cigarettes is prohibited in all areas of BC Place. Outside food and beverage is prohibited.

Street Party

Due to social distancing requirements, the pre-game street party held at Terry Fox Plaza will not take place prior to kick-off in 2021.

Strollers

Stroller parking is available at section 229. BC Lions and BC Place Stadium are not responsible for any lost or damaged items. If a stroller parking ticket is lost, proof of identification must be provided in order to claim the stroller. Stroller parking is available from gate opening time to a half hour after the final whistle. If no strollers are dropped off, stroller parking will close at halftime.

Taxis

A taxi stand is located at the Plaza of Nations on Pacific Boulevard. Guests are asked to cross Pacific Boulevard via the overhead walkway, which can be accessed from the outer concourse neat Gate E (near section 241).

A taxi stand is also available at Parq Vancouver on Level 1 of the hotel complex. Parq Vancouver is best accessed by exiting Gate G from BC Place.

If you require use of a phone to make a call, please visit Guest Services at Section 234.

Tickets

Single game tickets for BC Lions home games can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.ca. For any season ticket holder related issues, please visit our Team Ticket Services window at BC Place Gate H 2 hours prior to kickoff.

Transit

For those travelling by bus, all suburban services connect with Downtown Vancouver’s #15 and #17 buses, which provide the closest drop-off services to BC Place. If travelling by Skytrain, disembark at the Stadium/Chinatown station. Upon exiting the Skytrain, walk up the stairs to Beatty Street and turn left. Gate A, B and H are approximately a five minute walk up Beatty Street. Alternatively, upon exiting the Skytrain head down the stairs to Expo Boulevard and the Stadium is a five minute walk to the right. Fans travelling on the Canada Line should disembark at the Yaletown/Roundhouse station and take a short 10 minute walk to the stadium.

Visiting Team Fans

The BC Lions and BC Place welcome fans and supporters of visiting CFL teams. Visiting fans are guests of the BC Lions and BC Place – harassment of the visiting team or their fans will not be tolerated, and may result in eviction from the venue.

Water Bottles

BC Place provides a limited number of wheelchairs for Guest use if required. Should you require assistance in getting to your seating area, please inform a member of the BC Place Hosting team who will be happy to help! Wheelchairs may be stored at the Stroller Parking located at Section 225.

Wheelchair seating
