Acquired:

Ciante was signed as a free agent by the Lions on February 14, 2024.

Highlights:

2023: Evans signed with the Montreal Alouettes and would appear in 11 games with 25 defensive tackles and three interceptions before helping Montreal take down Winnipeg in the 110th Grey Cup. It was his second championship ring in five career appearances in the Grey Cup.

2021-22: Signed as a free agent with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats ahead of 2021 and would suit up in 13 games in his first season in Steeltown, making 43 tackles to go with one interception. Suited up in the 109th Grey Cup loss to Winnipeg where he registered four defensive tackles and one tackle for a loss. Appeared in 13 more games in 2022 and recorded 26 tackles plus one interception.

2020: Re-signed with the Alouettes in early 2020 and would not suit up following the cancellation of the season due to COVID-19.

2019: Moved south to the Alliance of American Football’s Salt Lake Stallions and recorded four tackles in four games with the squad before signing as a free agent with the Montreal Alouettes on May 2022. He would register 29 defensive tackles, five pass knockdowns and three interceptions in 13 games before recording four defensive tackles in the Eastern Semi-Final loss to Edmonton.

2015-18: Evans moved north to the Calgary Stampeders in 2015 and after becoming a regular in his second season, established himself as one of the CFL’s top defensive backs. A CFL All-Star in 2017 and West Division All-Star in both 2017 and 2018, Evans appeared in 48 games with the Stampeders and racked up 124 defensive tackles, seven interceptions and three forced fumbles. Evans appeared in three straight Grey Cups with the Stamps from 2016-18, winning his first ring in the 2018 campaign while recording an interception off Trevor Harris in the victory over Ottawa.

2010-13: Evans suited up in 48 games with the Nebraska Cornhuskers, making 143 total tackles, five sacks, five interceptions and two interception return touchdowns. As a senior, Evans set single-season program records for tackles for a loss (11) and sacks (3) by a defensive back.
