Greatest Play in BC Lions History – NUMBER 8

Another example of the classic “long bomb”, Damon Allen and Alfred Jackson combined for one of the most amazing QB-receiver nights in club history. The evening was capped in the final 1:27 with a CFL-record tying 109-yard TD pass giving the Lions the lead and the win. Jackson burned CB Wayne Shaw all night for 7 catches, 249 yards and 4 TDs though he was a little tired at the end: “This old man ran out of gas” the 35-year old said to Province reporter Lowell Ullrich. The play was set up by BC defensive back Tony Walker who had made an interception on the previous play giving the Lions the ball on their own 1-yard line. The very next play saw Jackson outleg Shaw one more time and provide the winning margin. Damon Allen had a fabulous night as well piling up 490 yards on 20 of 29 attempts for 4 TDs and accounting for a fifth with a run of his own.
