Draft Profile: Scott Mitchell

CFL.ca Staff

TORONTO — Rice offensive lineman Scott Mitchell will head into the CFL’s Canadian draft on May 8th as the top rated prospect in the country. And with the top ranking comes high expectations – something Mitchell looks forward to.

“Now you have to come out and perform like you’re the man and meet everyone’s expectations,” said Mitchell following the CFL Evaluation camp in March.

Mitchell began the season ranked #2 by the CFL’s Scouting Bureau but jumped up to the top spot following an impressive showing at E-Camp.

And despite playing his college football south of the border the potential first overall pick still has plenty of ties to Canadian football.

“I remember going to Alouettes games as a kid and then when we moved to Ottawa we had Renegades season tickets so the CFL and Canadian football has always been a big part of my life,” he said.

After the draft it will be an even bigger part of his life.
