Training Camp Report: Day 18

BCLions.com Staff

The Lions hit the field at Hillside Stadium on Wednesday for their final practice of 2013 Training Camp, concluding 18 days of on-field sessions and meetings preparing the squad for next week’s regular season kickoff.

Demonstrating that she’s the ultimate GM, Mother Nature said farewell to the Leos with a windy and rainy practice session which proved to be a rare occurence over the past three weeks in beautiful Kamloops.

Despite the dreary conditions, head coach Mike Benevides staged a nearly two-hour session which amounted to an up-tempo walkthrough as players on both sides of the ball were extremely cautious given the slick conditions.

Wrapping up his fifth camp as a Leo, quarterback Travis Lulay executed well this morning, distributing the ball to multiple members of his receiving corps including a couple of long plays to favourite target Emmanuel Arceneaux.

With no walkthrough practice tomorrow in advance of Friday’s preseason home opener versus the Edmonton Eskimos, the Lions placed a heavy on special teams this morning, using the final half hour to cover off their kickoff and punt scenarios.
