Best Of: Getting to Know with Emily

We brought a new feature this year: Getting to Know with our Junior Reporter Emily, and they seemed to be a big hit! How could they not be? Emily’s one liners are legendary…and she got Geroy Simon to put on a Superman costume.

She also kept pace with the likes of Jason Arakgi, Andrew Harris, and even Marco Iannuzzi, all while keeping her cool. No easy task. Through the episodes we’ve seen her take on Richie Leone on the basketball court, challenge Ryan Phillips to a dance off, and she even donned Josh Johnson’s uniform for a full practice with Khreem Smith!

So here they are: our picks for the Top 8 Best Emily Interviews!

8) Everyone knows that Andrew Harris loves hockey, but it was still not a fun surprise for our Cub reporter to find out that #33 had a stick and pads waiting for her.

Best line: “If you could just give me the name and number of your hairdresser that’s be great.”

7) Things we learned from Emily’s interview with Richie Leone: he totally cheats at basketball!

Best line: “You said you could dunk, man!”

6) If you’re going to challenge Ryan Phillips to a dance off, you’d better come prepared! Luckily, Emily has skills…and Jason Arakgi on her side.

Best line: “Since you’re a teacher, can you do me a solid and finish my math homework for me?”

5) Spending the day with a part-time fitness instructor  like Rolly Lumbala means you’re going to have to do a whole ton of burpees…which is really not fun for anyone…

Best line: “No offence, Rolly, but this is the worst day ever!”

4) Fresh of a new player contract, junior reporter Emily seeks financial advice from the best possible source: Marco Iannuzzi, but really, all she wants to know is how much money she can spend on candy and kicks…

Best line: “Are you just saying big words to sound smart?”

3) Emily’s first interview of the year was none other than Jason Arakgi, who was a great sport and wedged himself into a baby swing for the whole thing!

Best line: “I may not be a very good dancer, Emily, but I have a lot of gusto.”

2) Emily suits up in Josh Johnson’s jersey for a full practice – tackle dummies and all – with Khreem Smith…who’s about 6″3′. Not going to lie, she’s got potential.

Best line: “Isn’t that funny! You and Josh Johnson wear the same size.”

That’s all for this year’s list! We’ve really enjoyed brining you this series in 2015 and we can’t wait to continue next season! Let us know which players, fans, or even staff you’d like to see featured.
