Lions Bring Back National Lineman Andrew Jones

Two days after announcing the return of Ricky Foley, the BC Lions are bringing back another familiar face. Non-import offensive lineman Andrew Jones has agreed to a contract with the club for the remainder of this season.

The Toronto native was selected by the Lions in round four (32nd overall) of the 2007 CFL Draft and went on to appear in 31 regular season games from 2009 to 2011. He was part of an offensive line that helped control the ground game in the 99th Grey Cup victory over Winnipeg.

Jones went on to win Grey Cups with Toronto (2012) and Edmonton (2015) before suiting up for 15 games with Saskatchewan in 2016.

The McMaster University product has played a total of 95 regular season games in his career.

Jones will begin practicing with his teammates on tomorrow when they begin preparations for SundayÔÇÖs rematch with the Roughriders at new Mosaic Stadium.

The club also announced the release of import quarterback Jake Heaps from the practice roster.
